DAY 1 – November 6, 2020
This workshop will be geared towards BIPOC and their experience in the mental health field. It will review of unique demands & risks of the helping professions including high stress, secondary trauma, and how the importance of self-care. The workshop will review the various types of self-care and how to integrate your own ancestral wisdom and cultural values.

At the end of the course participants will be able to:
*Demonstrate awareness of risk factors for burnout, secondary trauma and for participants to identify signs of both
*Identify the importance of self-care to prevent both burnout, secondary trauma, and patient neglect
*For workshop participants to develop their own personalized list of self-care activities, culturally centered practices and ancestral wisdom
