We have a brand-new Mental Health & Wellness Building, sitting across the Fremont Medical Center Campus and office is near a BART station, shops, restaurants and Lake Elizabeth.
Our medical centers have one of the most diverse memberships in Northern California and has a large deaf community, home to California School for the Deaf.
Our patients are often coming for mental health treatment for the first time in their lives and truly appreciate the help that we offer.

Regionally offered trainings throughout the training year as well as use if cultural humility/culturally competent supervision support.
Interns will rotate between Child and Adult Team staff meetings each month, as well as attend the Department wide meeting each quarter. Regional seminars are offered on a variety of topics throughout the training year as well. Supervision utilizes components of feedback informed care for case consultation both in individual and group.
Group supervision as well as individual supervision is set up each week. Supervision will consist of one hour with an Adult Team Supervisor, one hour with a Child Team supervisor, 2 hours of Group Supervision within the cohort and an additional hour of Assessment supervision when applicable. Opportunities for additional supervision will be offered throughout the training year as indicated.
Interns take part in a community partnership project based on interest focuses of the cohort and community identified needs. This is facilitated by a staff member as well.
Inters will be offered an opportunity to provide assessment to child and adult patients. As part of the Child ADHD Screening rotation additional assessments may occur and be assigned to an intern.

Adult track is 50% of the time for the full 12 months, half of the clinical time will be providing intakes and return services for adult patients. Approximately 1-2 adult intake appointments per week with 6-8 return visits.
Child track is 50% of the time for the full 12 months, half of the clinical time will be providing intakes and return services for child patients. Approximately 1-2 adult intake appointments per week with 6-8 return visits.
Assessment track is built into the clinical time. You will complete approximately 2 assessments during the 12 months. Percentage of child vs adult assessment will vary based on experience and referral need. There is an opportunity to conduct more assessments and varying levels of comprehensive assessments based on experience, interest, and clinical need.
The ADHD screening group for children will run approximately 6 months of the internship. This consists of running a weekly assessment group, and administrative needs for the group.
The Adult Team offers a variety of groups throughout the year, interns will have the opportunity to participate in ones of interest. This track is mandatory but the specific groups can be selected based on interest, clinical need and scheduling availability. Typically rotation into 2 different groups is expected, however inters may be able to do more if desired. These groups include

Didactic Training
Weekly didactics are provided within the consortium on a variety of topics, treatment modalities, and other information. Throughout the year feedback around topics of interest or needed training is used to build the didactic schedule. There is also access to Kaiser’s learning library as well for additional self-study opportunities. Example didactics include:
