Presenter Bio

Dawn Hasemann, Ph.D. is currently the Program Manager (BHM2) for Kaiser Permanente’s Virtual ADAPT program in Livermore and San Leandro. Dawn has been a manager and therapist with the Virtual ADAPT program since its doors opened in 2020. Before joining the Virtual ADAPT program, Dawn worked at the Kaiser Fremont Mental Health and Wellness department in various capacities for over 21 years. She completed her postdoctoral residency at that clinic and went on to become an adult team psychologist and psychological testing coordinator. As a manager in the Fremont clinic, she managed the adult team, and she temporarily managed the triage team. She was the regional Chair of the KPNC Adult Service managers group from 2013-2015 and has served on various committees including the End of Life Option group, Kaiser Fremont’s hospital ethics committee, and the Feedback Informed Care regional work group. Dawn completed her undergraduate degree at New College of Florida. After working as a case manager, day treatment assistant, and a psychiatric technician, she was admitted to the University of Kentucky where she completed her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. Dawn completed her clinical internship at the University of North Carolina with specializations in psychological assessment and forensics before joining the postdoctoral residency program at Kaiser Permanente.

Have you heard of Problem-Solving Therapy or PST? PST, developed in 1971, is an evidence-based treatment useful for treating a variety of populations and mental health conditions. This course covers the theoretical background of PST and highlights the empirical research supporting its use. Clinicians will learn how to use this straightforward treatment approach in a brief therapy format. Case examples are provided to demonstrate the use of PST with patients.

Refund and Attendance Policy

All programs offered on KP Learn for CE credit through the KP Northern California Mental Health Training website are free of charge to Kaiser Permanente Staff and trainees. Once a course is selected in the KP NCAL MH Training Website, the registration process begins, and it will appear in the individuals KP Learn profile for completion within 90 days.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Those who attend the program in full and complete the appropriate evaluation form will receive CE credits. Please note that credit will only be granted to those who attend the entire program. An attestation of attendance will be given once the individual has completed viewing the program, which will then initiate the final steps of completing the evaluation forms to receive a certificate of completion.
