Renn Schauer, Psy.D. (they/them) is a psychological associate and gender specialist on the Kaiser Vallejo child and family team, providing gender-affirming therapy and preparation for gender-affirming medical care to trans teens and their families. They are a white, queer, trans, non-binary psychologist with a passion for advocacy for LGBTQ+ patients and their families.

In their work, Renn’s style is collaborative, integrating social justice and multicultural frameworks with psychodynamic, neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, solution-focused, and systems-based approaches. Renn received their doctoral degree in 2022 from the Wright Institute in Berkeley and completed their predoctoral internship at WestCoast Children’s Clinic in Oakland, where they provided therapeutic collaborative psychological assessment and community-based trauma therapy to foster and adopted youth and their families.

Most recently, Renn was a postdoctoral resident on the Vallejo child and family team prior to moving into their current position in fall 2023.
