Presenter Bio

Daniel L. Segal, PhD is the Kraemer Family Professor of Aging Studies and Professor of Psychology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), having joined the faculty at UCCs in 1995. His program of research focuses on the assessment of psychopathology among older adults, the expression and measurement of anxiety in later-life, suicide risk and resilience and aging, and the impact of personality disorders across the lifespan. He is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and of the American Psychological Association (Division 12 and Division 20).

In this webinar, we dive deep into key issues about mental health and aging, including current demographics of aging, mental health needs and challenges for older adults, and symptoms and diagnostic considerations of major neurocognitive disorder, mild neurocognitive disorder, and delirium (including differential diagnosis and treatment considerations). This webinar will conclude with a discussion about specific adaptations to psychotherapy you can implement to more effectively serve your older adult clients. This webinar is led by an experienced clinical geropsychologist who welcomes your questions and participation.

Describe the current demographics of aging and identify key mental health needs and challenges for the current cohort of older adults.

Refund and Attendance Policy

All programs offered on KP Learn for CE credit through the KP Northern California Mental Health Training website are free of charge to Kaiser Permanente Staff and trainees. Once a course is selected in the KP NCAL MH Training Website, the registration process begins, and it will appear in the individuals KP Learn profile for completion within 90 days.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Those who attend the program in full and complete the appropriate evaluation form will receive CE credits. Please note that credit will only be granted to those who attend the entire program. An attestation of attendance will be given once the individual has completed viewing the program, which will then initiate the final steps of completing the evaluation forms to receive a certificate of completion.
