This course will train providers how to implement cognitive processing therapy for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder. It will review the theoretical model of cognitive processing therapy, structure of treatment, and how to address common concerns and dilemmas. Integration of different diversity factors into treatment will be discussed.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the theoretical underpinning of cognitive processing therapy.
- Understand how to practically implement the treatment.
- Understand how to effectively modify cognitive processing therapy within fidelity to the model.
- Discuss how to integrate diversity factors into the treatment model.
