Effective clinical supervision of students, doctoral interns, and postdoctoral residents is an essential activity for many clinical psychologists. This workshop will focus specifically on the supervision of psychological and neuropsychological assessment as opposed to intervention. The morning session will be didactic, addressing supervisory models, structural and practical issues, ethical considerations, trainee perspectives, and programmatic elements. The afternoon session will primarily consist of interactive discussions surrounding thought provoking vignettes including trainee confidence issues, multiculturalism, professionalism, competency development plans and remediation, the supervisor’s role as gatekeeper, and supervisor qualifications, development, and support.
