Equity, Inclusion & Diversity: Neurodivergent Patient Populations and Assessment
Dr. Hives joined Kaiser Fresno in 2017 and became board certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology in 2021. Prior to joining Kaiser, Dr. Hives completed his predoctoral internship at the California Department of State Hospitals’ Vacaville Psychiatric Program and his postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Patton State Hospital.
Dr. Hives’ work at Kaiser involves evaluating adults and older adults for cognitive problems caused by conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, head injuries, chronic medical conditions, and mental illness. His work is focused on helping patients recognize their cognitive strengths and adapt to their challenges.
A Berkeley native, Dr. Hives also remains committed to service through participation in the Fresno chapter of Kaiser’s African American Professionals Association and as an assessment supervisor for Kaiser Fresno’s clinical psychological internship program.
