The Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Training Program proudly served as a Tier 3 sponsor at the APA 2024 conference held in Seattle, WA, from August 8 to August 10. The event attracted a total of 8,431 in-person attendees, along with an additional 1,703 virtual participants.
In addition to our sponsorship, the training program also supported the APA Member Professional Headshot booth, which welcomed approximately 1,000 attendees who took advantage of the opportunity to obtain professional headshots.
The MHTP Leadership Team, comprised of Kathryn Wetzler, PsyD, Jennifer Thom, PhD, and Supra Gill, PhD, was present at the conference. Throughout the three-day event, hundreds of attendees visited the MHTP booth, many of whom were introduced to Kaiser Permanente and the MHTP training program for the first time. Angela Lee, Project Manager; Rosalie Buserwini, TA Consultant; and MHTP Trainee Emily Flato were available daily to greet the numerous visitors.
The conference featured Main Stage headline events, including an inspiring opening session led by APA’s current president, Cynthia de las Fuentes, Ph.D., as well as discussions addressing pressing issues in the field. Diverse voices from across the discipline participated in Feature Stage programming, which showcased emerging trends, leading research, and best practices. APA 2024 provided an excellent platform for the MHTP to demonstrate its commitment to mental health within our communities. We look forward to next year’s conference in Denver, CO!
