Beginning in January, the KP Counseling Center onboarded its newest cohort from the KP School of Allied Health Sciences. We are excited to train and mentor these students on becoming the next generation of psychotherapists. This group of 40 premaster’s Marriage and Family Therapy practicum trainees entered the Counseling Center and immediately jumped into a newly developed model of KPCC trainee onboarding and preparation for patient care. Over the next several months, this cohort will gain exposure to CBT skills through didactics, mentorship, shadowing other clinicians, and using our AI-based training program, Lyssn. This AI-powered platform allows trainees to practice evidence-based therapy skills independently in real time and receive immediate, direct expert-level feedback and evaluation. MHTP is excited to leverage our KP Counseling Center staff’s expertise along with newer technology to enhance the training experience of the most recent additions to our MHTP training programs!
