The Mental Health Training Collaborative (MHTC) is honored to welcome our newest cohort of mental health trainees to the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Mental Health Training Program. As you begin this important chapter in your professional journey, we are excited to support your development as compassionate, skilled, and equity-minded clinicians.
This year’s cohort represents a dynamic and diverse group of clinical psychology externs, interns, and postdoctoral residents, as well as post-master’s fellows and pre-master’s interns. Each of you brings a unique blend of experiences, perspectives, and aspirations that will enrich our training community and strengthen the care we provide to our members.

What to Expect This Year
The MHTP offers a robust and comprehensive training experience that includes:
- Required clinical hours across a variety of settings
- Weekly didactic seminars led by experienced clinicians and subject matter experts
- Enrichment opportunities designed to deepen your clinical knowledge and expand your professional network
Advanced Specialty Training Tracks
In addition to core training components, MHTP offers seven supplemental specialty tracks that provide advanced instruction in evidence-based practices. These tracks are designed to enhance your clinical expertise and prepare you for specialized roles in mental health care.
2025–2026 Specialty Tracks:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Health Psychology
- Implementation Science
- Trauma Treatment
- Bariatric Assessment
- Bilingual Spanish
- Gender Health
Each track includes targeted didactic instruction, clinical practice in specialty areas, and mentorship from experienced clinicians. These opportunities are optional and competitive, and we encourage interested trainees to apply based on their professional goals and clinical interests.
Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) Programming
Our EID Committee is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive training environment. Trainees can engage in:
- Monthly EID Forums featuring internal and external presenters
- Monthly consultation hours
- Mentorship programs, including:

- External mentorship where trainees support high school students and this can part of their Community Benefit Project
