Kick Off 2026 with the MHTC Journal Club: Science Meets Practice

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our 2026 Journal Club Presentations, starting this January and running through early August! This marks the second year of our highly popular Mental Health Training Collaborative (MHTC) initiative, designed to advance the APA’s mission of integrating science and practice in clinical psychology.

What makes this year special?
Under the leadership of Drs. Ana Zdravkovic, Aubyn Fulton, and Gerald Gonzales, over 60 psychology interns and postdoctoral residents from 13 clinical sites are stepping up to share their expertise. Each presenter has selected a seed article on a topic they’re passionate about, dissected its research design and findings, and developed a clinical tool to bridge theory and practice.

Expect a dynamic lineup of topics, including:

  • Maternal Mental Health
  • Innovative Approaches to Treating Personality Disorders
  • Racial Bias in Pain Management
    …and much more!

When & Where?
Presentations will be held every few weeks at these times, over TEAMS:

The full schedule, including presenters, topics, and seed articles, is available here.

Bonus for Licensed Psychologists:
Attending these sessions isn’t just educational—it’s practical! Time spent reading seed articles and participating in presentations can be claimed as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours for your CA Board of Psychology license renewal. Details on the CPD process are available on the CA Board of Psychology website.

Join us to support our trainees, deepen your clinical knowledge, and stay at the forefront of mental health practice. Let’s make 2026 a year of learning and collaboration!
