Ana Zdravkovic, PhD (she/her), have been working with children and families in a helping capacity since 2002 in a variety of settings including: daycare centers, college mental health programs, community-based mental health, and hospital consultation. She joined Kaiser Permanente in 2012 because of the multidisciplinary teamwork and the focus on supporting an overall healthy lifestyle. She views therapy as a means of strengthening the inner quality that all people have to improve and develop a life worth living. Her work uses a strengths-based family-systems approach, with elements of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Parent Management Training. She’s been working with children and families, focusing on challenges related to Autism Spectrum Disorders and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.
Kaiser Permanente’s Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology is what initially drew Dr. Zdravkovic to the organization. The focus on evidence-based practice, broad scope of treatment, and community population is unsurpassed in the region. She has stayed involved in the training program since getting licensed in 2013. Her work has focused on individual and group supervision, expanding mental health trainee opportunities into the pediatric setting, building clinically relevant child-focused assessment opportunities, and promoting didactics for mental health trainees, supervisors, and staff.
Dr. Zdravkovic is originally from Southern California and attended UC Irvine as an undergraduate. She earned a PhD from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, with a specialization in child clinical psychology and completed her doctoral internship at the University of Louisville and Norton Children’s Hospital. In addition to clinical work, she has lectured and instructed courses at local community colleges and universities on general psychology, research methodology, and clinical child psychology. Her personal interests include getting outside with her young children, reading fiction, and visiting museums.
