Patrizia Meunier, LMFT, PhD (Physics)

Patrizia (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and graduated in 2005 from JFK University in California, East Bay with a master’s in counseling psychology. She has been working in the field of mental health since 2003 providing outpatient mental health services. Patrizia joined Kaiser Permanente in 2014 and subsequently started a new specialty service for Spanish-speaking members in 2016. She has been directing and supervising in the Bilingual Program since. While counseling psychology is Patrizia’s current career, her original background in academia has proven valuable for organizing the didactic aspects of the various mental health programs within which she is actively involved.

Patrizia is an EMDR therapist and has experience treating a variety of mental health problems. Her main clinical interests are the provision of high-quality mental health services for Latinx populations (directly in Spanish, when possible) and trauma-informed therapy approaches. She is passionate about mental health training, pouring her heart into the education, support, and supervision she provides to new clinicians. Patrizia’s commitment to the Specialty Bilingual (Spanish) Treatment Program combines many of her interests, and she is grateful, humbled, and honored to be able to direct this specialty training program.
