Susan Fitts, PsyD (she/her), is a licensed clinical psychologist who began working at Kaiser Permanente as a postdoctoral resident in the Oakland Behavioral Medicine/Psychiatry Department in 2003. Over the years, she has worked as a psychologist in General Psychiatry, Behavioral Health Education, Bariatrics, and Pain Management. Before she was a resident, she had a wonderful opportunity to work for the Division of Research as a research assistant.
Dr. Fitts currently works as a Bariatric and Pain Management Psychologist. She enjoys the complexity of helping KP members navigate mental and physical health concerns. She is also a liaison for the Bariatric Specialty Training Program as well as the Wellness and Outreach team. During her career at Kaiser Permanente, she has been offered opportunities to explore different specialty departments and distinct roles in the organization. Dr. Fitts encourages all mental health trainees to stay open to new opportunities and try different training rotations as they may find a new interest among this diversity of experience. She is thankful to have had an interesting and diverse career.
