Recruitment Season is upon us!

The Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Training Program has achieved remarkable growth in recent years, driven by the increasing demand for advanced mental health training. The program remains committed to addressing the growing need for comprehensive training for master’s and doctorate-level trainees.

With recruitment season underway, the program is on track to recruit and hire over 300 trainees for the 2025–26 training year, encompassing premaster’s to postdoctoral candidates. Angela Lee, MBA, Project Manager, and Juliett Manjra, TA Consultant, have successfully conducted multiple Associate Postmaster Mental Health Fellowship information sessions this year. Notably, attendance at these sessions has tripled compared to last year, reflecting significant interest from prospective trainees.

The program is currently in the process of hiring over 198 doctoral-level trainees, including practicum students, doctoral interns, and postdoctoral residents. Impressively, the training program achieved a 100% match rate for their doctoral interns during the APPIC Match Day and has successfully filled 86% of their postdoctoral positions for the 2025–26 training year.

As the program continues to grow, ensuring comprehensive support for trainees throughout their training year remains a top priority. The Mental Health Training Program (MHTP) is committed to delivering efficient, high-quality, evidence-based, and integrated health care while fostering innovation and driving continuous quality improvement.
