Announcing Our New Identity: The Mental Health Training Collaborative (MHTC)

We are proud to share an exciting evolution in our work: the Mental Health Training Program is now officially the Mental Health Training Collaborative (MHTC).

This name reflects our expanded mission to address the critical shortage of clinicians and brings together three initiatives under one collaborative umbrella.  All three initiatives are under the leadership of Dr. Kathryn Wetzler, Dr. Jennifer Thom, and Dr. Supria Gill.

  • Mental Health Training Program (MHTP)
  • Kaiser Permanente Counseling Center (KPCC)
  • Regional Associate (Supervision) Program (RAP)our newest initiative

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Maryam Hafezi as the Director of the RAP Program and Lisa Vine, LCSW as the Director of KPCC.  They join the esteemed MHTC leadership team under the guidance of Dr. Kathryn Wetzler, Dr. Jennifer Thom, and Dr. Supria Gill.

The RAP Program is designed to provide high-quality clinical supervision to associate clinicians within our medical centers and support their transition into full licensure as Kaiser Permanente mental health professionals.  The KPCC Program provides high-quality training to our entry-level students, including pre-master’s and practicum students, through partnerships with the KP Scholars Academy and the KP School of Allied Health Sciences.

This support is a vital step in helping associates progress toward full licensure as Kaiser Permanente mental health professionals.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in our commitment to workforce development, equity in access to care, and the long-term sustainability of mental health services across our communities.

We look forward to the continued growth of MHTC and the positive impact it will have on our clinicians, our patients, and the communities we serve.
