Galina Kovaleva, PhD (she/her), holds an MSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Bioinformatics. Her career began in research, particularly in the field of comparative genomics.
Dr. Kovaleva joined Kaiser Permanente Financial Services (TPMG FS) team in 2016. During her tenure in TPMG FS, she played instrumental role in maintaining, enhancing, and re-designing various regional products, and supported several system transitions. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Kovaleva designed and facilitated technical trainings for other TPMG employees and provided technical and analytical support within her own team and to the broader TPMG Medical Offices Controllers community. She was actively engaged in several proof-of-concept pilots in TPMG and participated in the Emerging Analytical Leaders pilot program. This diverse experience has allowed her to develop an in-depth understanding of TPMG business, operations, architecture, and data.
In 2023, Dr. Kovaleva joined the NCAL Mental Health Training Program as a Data Scientist, where she transforms raw TPMG data into data-driven actionable insights, the cornerstone of evidence-base practice.
In her free time, Dr. Kovaleva enjoys reading, hiking, practicing yoga, and playing tennis.
