Joanne Lam, PsyD

Joanne Lam, PsyD (she/her), currently serves as a clinical supervisor with the NCAL Mental Health Training Program. Commencing her professional journey as a postdoctoral resident at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Lam has consistently contributed to KP’s Mental Health Department. Her diverse roles at Kaiser Permanente encompass clinical supervision, triage clinician, initial assessment clinician, individual/group therapist, and IOP manager.

In her clinical approach, Dr. Lam demonstrates a profound commitment to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care. Grounded in techniques such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, her practice reflects a comprehensive understanding. Furthermore, Dr. Lam has received extensive training in integrative settings, collaborating closely with physicians and other multidisciplinary healthcare providers. Additionally, she is currently in the process of pursuing professional certification in perinatal mental health. Dr. Lam provides therapy in both English and Cantonese.

When it comes to training, Dr. Lam places significant emphasis on the quality of supervision and education. She firmly believes that this period is crucial for supervisees to experience substantial personal and professional growth. Dr. Lam is enthusiastic about offering mentorship and providing professional guidance to those under her supervision.

During her leisure time, Dr. Lam finds joy in traveling and discovering new destinations with her family. She relishes attending concerts and exploring novel ideas. She has been enjoying taking the ferry to the SF farmer’s market as of late.
